Since doing the second big chop I have been thinking I have not experience that natural hair frustration that everybody else experience. I've been almost 2 years natural, it's been 11 months since my big chop.
What is my secret for not having hair frustration?
Answer: wearing a wig.
I have been wearing a wig since May of 2012 when my hair was mid back length. I big chopped December 2012 and still been wearing my wig. I have never been out in public without my wig, but as soon as I get home my wig is off. I don't have to worry about styling my hair at all, worrying whether or not my hair is long enough, hair getting tangled if I wear my natural hair out ... blah blah....
All I do is take wash, deep condition my natural hair, moisturize and put it back in plaits, then remoisturize during the week. This eliminates all the natural hair frustration of styling my natural hair to wear out. My goal is to get my hair back to bra strap length then I wear my hair out until then I'll be wigging it all the way. My hair is currently shoulder length so I estimate I have another year and a half to go.
Wearing a wig for that long for some people might be too much, but it works for me. It's just an idea for some of you who are natural who have never thought about it.
I know for a fact that this is the only method that keeps going with my natural hair because I don't have to deal with it so the world can see it right now because I know for a fact I would have been one of those frustrated naturals.
Deep conditioning my hair.
